Carl Gunnarsson's Biography

Carl Gunnarsson was born November 9th 1986 in Örebro Sweden and is 6 ft 2 inches tall. He plays for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League. Gunnarsson is an offensive defenseman and has been compared to Nicklas Lidstrom. 

Gunnarsson was selected in the seventh round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was signed by the Maple Leafs to an entry level contract on June 3rd, 2009.
Carl is considered an all-around defenseman with good puck-moving abilities, he has the ability to take care of his own end and make a smart outlet pass.

Carl was called up from the Toronto Marlies early in the 2009/2010 season and the Leafs were hoping he would stay up with the Leafs, which he did.
